sounds in the hall toilets

This is a lame post, but it's something that captured my attention recently, for I-dunno-what reason, and I decided to blog this :)

1. Banging sounds

These are likely to be the sound made by the guys in the toilet upstairs when they hit the taps.

The water from the tap at the basins flow for only 2-3 seconds, you see. It's a little difficult for us when we're trying to cup water for rinsing our mouths or faces. The force used to press the tap for water increases when we're agitated.

2. Water from upstairs

When the sound of flowing water is heard from above, it's likely that someone upstairs has just flushed the toilet. If the sound lasts for longer than that, it means he's bathing. Usually, when the water sound lasts for just a few seconds, it's likely to be followed by the sound of a tap being hit, and then more water. i.e. the person has just flushed, and washed his hands.

3. Water from next door

I'm curious, really. When I bathe, I never ever leave the tap running while I scrub my body or massage my hair. I only turn it on when I need to rinse myself.

I have, however, heard on many occasions, the sound of water running continuously from the shower cubicle next door. It seems like there are A LOT of people who let the water run even when they're not rinsing soap/shampoo off themselves. That, is SUCH A WASTE OF WATER!! I mean, if everyone uses water responsibly, turning the tap on only when they're rinsing, just think of how much water we'll be able to save! I always feel the urge to put up posters asking them to use water wisely and not, well, waste it like this. Tsk tsk people.
