Moving on

It's amazing, how a week can make so much of a difference. Just one week is all it takes to bring out the bipolar emotions. I am not kidding.

---

Lunch after church yesterday with the girls, Cheryl, Xi Ying, and Jacelyn. The plan was to wake up for first service but XY and I failed miserably. So while we went for 2nd service, Jace and Cheryl went to Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar. Lol.

Four of us headed to The Coffee Daily at Brighton Crescent after 2nd service ended.

VERY reasonably-priced. Apparently the place is known for its coffee but I was on a tight budget and so did not order a coffee (darn). Just ate to fill stomach. Small, but comfy cafe :)

My Baked Macaroni with Mushrooms - SUPER DELICIOUS. But really small portion as it was only $6.90. I think I could eat 2 portions of it if only I had more cash.

XY's Beef Shepherd's Pie, which was okayyyyyy.

Tea which Cheryl and Jace shared.

We didn't stay for long as each of us had our own busy schedules, so we just headed home after that. I went back to take a nap, pack, whatsapp, and then head back to hall. So here I am, many many hours later, blogging when I should be studying (again).

---

Two days ago, a Saturday well-spent, starting with brunch with Candice (where we both were late), studying/project work alone at Starbucks@Central, then dinner and movie with Wen Ming.

First up,

Tada! My brunch date.

Mocha

Scrambled eggs, fontina, chives - $12. Add bacon - $4.

Loved the bacon, soooo salty, but there were too much fats. I ate them anyway cos it was too yumz. Honestly, the bacon made a huge difference to the meal. I think Wild Honey serves better scrambled eggs, but I enjoyed these anyway.

Confit duck, roast portobello, balsamic onion panini - $19

This was pretty pricey for a sandwich... I think I expected more. Didn't like the onions, but just okay with the sandwich overall. Guess I'm not really a sandwich person!

They don't take reservations. If we had been a few minutes late, we would've ended up with bar seats, so phew, thank God! The place is small and doesn't seat many, so I was surprised that there wasn't a queue. Menu here

Walked around before heading back to Chinatown MRT!

I was so amused by the way the owner put the parking coupons. Haha, cute.

OK la not bad, this is my attempt at posing and looking unnatural and awkward. I feel so bhb posting this. Anyway outfit of the day was Ohvola's Quaint Floral Tea Frock in Creme, Brown Weaved Belt also from Ohvola, and flats from Mimosa.

Ballooned stretch at Chinatown

Then Candice and I parted, and I went to Starbucks at Central. Was lucky to get a table!

Very Berry Hibiscus

I was so annoyed by this Chinese woman who was talking on the phone; her voice was amplified so it sounded like she was speaking into a microphone. Then there was this super animated girl with a very high-pitched voice at the next table who was oblivious to her surroundings. Her friends could speak in normal tones, but she failed to do so. Irritating!!!

Wen Ming came and joined me close to dinner time, then we left to queue for Ramen Santouka. Which, surprisingly, wasn't long at all! If you compare it with weekday dinner queues, that is.

His set. Miso Ramen, and I-forgot-what rice.

Goodness knows how he could actually finish the whole set. Men really have bigger stomachs. I had a shoyu ramen (soy sauce), and both of us opted to add an egg. What's ramen without eggs! I didn't take a photo of my ramen cos' it looks the same as the miso one.

Some say Santouka has the best ramen, but Ippudo remains my favourite :)

My date, trying to share his chawanmushi. So thoughtful, and so cute.

After dinner we walked into this shop full of HELLO KITTIES! It's like a museum, with all the Hello Kitty merchandise screaming out to us to take them home. But all so pricey. Oh well.

Hi, I'm Black Kitty.

We caught Ted at PS at 9.35pm (thanks for the movie treat :))) ). Very funny movie cos Ted really is nothing like your average teddy bear. He's cute, yeah, but horny and crude and rude and everything. Amazing how he's actually the one who destroyed his best friend's relationship with his girlfriend, and helped patch them up.

So yes, full day out, didn't exactly study, but strangely enough, I was happy. :)

I HAVE FINALLY STEPPED DOWN FROM JCRC!!!! As of 20th September, the date of the 12th JCRC Investiture, I am no longer Outgoing Honorary General Secretary but rather, just a normal resident.

Not that I hated my time as Hon Gen. It really took up a lot of my time; my duties spread for the full year, unlike other portfolios where there were distinct peaks. I think I had many peaks; there were always requests to book the Function Hall, Dance Room, Function Room; there were countless meetings and I was always trying to finish tidying up meeting agendas and minutes; there were so many things to keep track of and ensure that the activities flow smoothly with no clash of dates; there were DATA ENTRIES which everyone hated. Sure, it made it difficult for me to have project meetings and meetups with my friends and stuff, but I have no doubt gained a lot from this one year. Invaluable experience, it has been.

Not to forget, the people who spurred me on with constant 'jiayous' and 'sleep earlier' and other words of encouragement... :) And most importantly, I'm thankful that the grace of God was always upon me. How else would I have managed to pull through? That resignation letter was the most horrific point in my term in office...

Do us proud, 12th. :)

Two Saturdays ago, on 15th September, another Saturday well-spent, with Wen Ming. It was a day of firsts. His first time trying out Soup Spoon, both our first time at USS, and our firsts at Seoul Garden Hotpot for dinner (thanks for the treat :)). Plus, I think, our longest chat afterwards. I have reflections 'bout those too but they're not going to be here.

Just one photo from the day, a funny one.

Us with Puss

USS was pretty small cos' we managed to cover the whole place twice in an afternoon. And conquered Battlestar Galactica.

I was so mega thankful that he won the battle against the zip of my romper, which got stuck and took a damn long time to get it out. The engineer always has a solution to problems like this. :)
