i'm a busy person.

Monday;
English oral presentation aka speech. 20% of CA.
CCA from 2.30pm to around 6pm.
Tuesday;
Accounts and elective literature test.
Rehearsal at Singapore Conference Hall, till 6pm.
Missing piano lesson and lit test due to the rehearsal.
Wednesday;
CCA from 2.30pm to 6pm.
Thursday;
CME and social studies test.
O'level music lesson, 2.30pm to 6.30pm.
Friday;
Chinese test.
CCA from 2.30pm to 6pm.
Saturday;
Symphony of Praise concert at Singapore Conference Hall.
Be in school by 7.45AM, reach at 10.45PM.
Missing youth service.

School ends after 6pm everyday for the week. By the time I reach home, I'd be dead tired, how to even find the time for all these damn tests? And the school must put the concert at this time when we are supposed to be mugging instead of having countless practices and rehearsals. *Sigh*
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillippians 4:6-7
I pray that God will see all the SOP performers through this hectic week as we juggle tests, studying, rehearsals and the big event.

LSBC youths rock!

OMG, I saw that album in Heartland Mall today... Hillsong's Mighty To Save! With a free notebook (again)! I'm so gonna get it... as soon as I have the money!
-the rest of this blogpost has been transferred to another blog, don't bother to hunt for it (if you even have that intention)-

i'm quite sure you, my dear blog visitor, are going to stop reading halfway. but it'll be really good if you read the whole thing.

I was blog-surfing...
And I read a post and had the urge to look through ALL my sermon notes.
A prompting from God, perhaps?
Okay it's Priscilla's blog. I am now blogging in response to her post.
But hey, I'm not trying to go against her or anything.
The time has come to stand for what I believe in.
Hello.. Anyone out there can help me, add on or correct my points? Please do.

And true enough, these three topics.
Evangelism, Healing and The Gift of Tongues.

1. Evangelism
Why should we evangelise/tell people about God?

a) God commissioned us to do that.
-Jesus said in Mark 16:15, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. ..."
-Jesus' final words, Luke 24:46-48, "He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things." "
So you see... He instructed us to preach and share the gospel with others. Allow me to go on.

b) It is God's desire that we evangelise.
-God wants everyone to be in heaven and not hell.
-Recall, the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15
- 1 Timothy 2:3-4 states, "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "
Actually, there's alot from the bible regarding God's desire to see us saved, but I'll not list all of them here. He does not want us to perish, but repent. When even one non-believer is converted, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God.

c) Dire consequences await if we don't do it.
-As Christians all know, Jesus is THE Way, THE Truth and THE life.
Now look at how hell is like.
_"where " 'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'Everyone will be salted with fire. ...' " Mark 9:48
_"They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13:42
_" ""Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. ...' " Matthew 25:41
Look, hell is described as everlasting fire punishment, fire, etc. And it is just so real. Don't want to scare anyone here, but hell does exist. I'm not supposed to be saying this openly actually, but this time I feel that I should just do it. I'll stop at this point though there's lots more.

Christians.. yeah, we definitely want to bring our friends to church and introduce them to what we are doing, let them know that there is a God who is watching over us each day. And this same God really wants them to know Him. However, we don't want to freak the poor non-Christian out by asking him/her to come if we can sense the reluctance in that person. I think that's a bit too much? It won't help because he/she will be even more unwilling to hang out with us, we certainly do not want that to happen.

2. Healing
This is linked to deliverance, in case you didn't know.
God heals, we know that. I don't have to type the bible references out, do I?

Being able to heal... is a commission given to the church.
-James 5:14-15 "Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. "
Not everyone can heal and deliver leh.
-(this verse is kinda repeated)
Mark 16:15-18 "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." "
Here, I'm also pointing to the tongues part.
- Acts 10:38. "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."
In the same way, God's sons and daughters can also be anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, following Jesus' footsteps. They can heal and cast out demons, only because God allowed them to, because all these are done in the name of Jesus. Have you ever heard of anyone saying that they can do what Jesus did without any help? No right? God works through these people so that more people can be healed. And finally...

3. The Gift of Tongues
About spiritual gifts

1 Corinthians 12:8-10,
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
Underlined are the spiritual gifts. A question. Why are spiritual gifts given?
The spiritual gifts are not given for selfish reasons but to serve and bless others as well as strengthen the church and our relationship with God.
1 Corinthians 12:7 "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."

About the gift of tongues.
Actually the whole of 1 Corinthians 14 is about that. But I'll pick a few here...

a)Who should speak in tongues?
Paul wants all believers to speak in tongues.
it's in verse 5 and quite straightforward. The prophecy part is a totally different thing which I will not be covering.
b)How often should one speak in tongues?
Paul spoke in tongues very often, so should we.
verse 18, "I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you."
If he was against tongues he wouldn't be speaking so much of it, haha.
c)What if one doesn't speak in tongues?
Well, do not stop other believers from speaking in tongues. It's stated in the same book and chapter,
verse 39, "Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and ,do not forbid speaking in tongues."
d) When should we use the gift of tongues?
Actually, there are two ways of using it.
i. For personal prayer and devotion. Using it as a kind of prayer language, it will improve one's relationship with God. He understands what one is speaking although it might sound rubbish.
verse 2 & 4 "For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit." and "He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself"
ii. As a gift of the Spirit in the worship service or in church. It must be interpreted and used in an orderly manner. Like in my church, we pray in tongues very frequently. It somehow strengthens prayers and the presence of God is like, felt more strongly.
verse 28, "If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God."

I have typed out 95% of what I know and feel about the 3 topics. And I spent... more than 2 hours? It's all worth it. God's word. I hope I didn't type this for nothing. And, I'm assuming that if you're reading this, you've read everything above. Won't want to type for the pixels to read cos' they ain't living.
As for pentacostal churches... I have no reason to be against them. In fact I am FOR them =)

Comments welcome.

Patience. The time has not come.

These are from Maryanne's blog, thanks girl!
Finally got an opening ceremony photo...
The first one's with Mr George Yeo and the bell, 3 of us and the choir.
Second's handbellers ringing the fanfare, Ringaudon.
Oh boy if only there were more pictures.

It rained for awhile this afternoon.
Rachel (Chng) borrowed Pei Qi's unbrella...
we were all laughing madly..
Who on earth doesn't know how to open and close and umbrella?
Rachel! haha.

palisade and spongy mesophyll =D

The planet is shaking! Literally... not.
It's the concert la... to go or not to go?
Christel sent out an email to the worship team and her cell..
Raphael's asking to go..
A lot of people are talking about it in school.
But, we have like 2 tests after this Planetshakers thing.
Go or don't go??

Bought new blusher. Haha.. My old one broke.
Speaking of beaking things, one of my test tubes was broken by someone. From banded classes manybe. Now i only have like 3 test tubes left. Great. Just great. How am I going to do practical with just 3 test tubes?

Common tests are scaring the hell outta me again.
Oh man... Chemistry! The QA is a killer.
Geography is cool but there's too many things to remember, lols...
Plate tectonics. Faults, plate boundaries, vulcanism, earthquakes, etc..
MUSIC. More composing and history.. Instruments of the orchestra, ...
Chinese have tian xie han zi! I thought they'll follow the new o'level format, without the writing of han zi?
For English, oral presentation, give a speech.
What on earth am i going to talk about la pls.

Oh and, me being the birthday person in the cell group,
forgot to check for birthdays in July!
Actually there's 2 but 1 stopped coming for very long, so it's Daryl I have to plan something for. His birthday is like, last last week. Haha oops.

(Okay I should try and stop reflecting on how lazy I am and just take out my books and revise.)

Last week, this week and next week...
For 15 days, it has been/it's gonna be something to do with music after school.
Handbell's taking up 80% of my after-school hours.
10% goes to o'level music lessons, and the rest, piano lessons.
EVERY WEEKDAY LEH! While my band's out together I have to face the music (literally), and not being able to touch bass.

I heard from Joanne, that the new piano syllabus is going to be a lot harder.
Like, grade 6 will play grade 7 pieces, grade 7 play grade 8..
I'm taking grade 8 next year.
SO DOES THAT MEAN I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY DIPLOMA STANDARD???
Please tell me it's not true.
Hello, I'm already struggling with grade 7...
Isn't it as good as skipping one grade? ABRSM what are you doing??

One good thing though...
(you've read my complaints)
Symphony of Praise, or SOP, is next Saturday.
That means handbells can stop after next week! I'll be free on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until maybe November when we'll start practicing for SYF.
We're one of the earliest CCA groups to stop CCA to prepare for EOYs =)

Now, YOU who are reading this...
have you bought your ticket to the concert?
I'm performing you know! Hahaha okay.
The cheapest ones are selling fast, so
hurry up. While stocks tickets last.

my cell group rocks =)

nothing much today...
played the piano for a damn long time, all the very expressive and emo songs, haha.
and went to get new contacts!
mum says my ex-neighbour, who's also my optition, is the only one who sells lenses pairs. yep, no need to get one box. 1 pair for $10. woot and this brand is alot more comfortable than my old one =)

Boon Yeow was the speaker for Youth Ablaze...
topic: peer pressure.
so basically there are positive and negative pressure..
you know how much we hate the feeling of being rejected, it's human nature to want to feel accepted. and sometimes if you don't give in, you'd be the subject of gossips.
peer pressure includes gossipping.
okay i admit i've been doing that though i told myself i wouldn't.
i wanted to go up for altar call but didn't.
... ...

negative peer pressure can lead to devastating results.
-anger, vulgarities, porn, theft, drugs, pre-marital sex, etc.
Exodus 23:2 states...
Don't go along with the crowd ...... just to please the crowd

positive peer pressure can influence us to do good.
how do we know whether it's good or bad?
in difficult times, positive peer pressure prevails.
Hebrews 10:24,
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Romans 12:2,
... and do not be conformed to this world.

know your personal conviction
-give in to the crowd?
or
-stand up for what you believe in?

after service,
Joe, Clarissa, Joshua, Smarties, Daryl and i went to compass point, BK.
it was supposed to be dinner as a cell but sadly not everyone could make it.
Joe drove us there. his car is so cute! Joshua sat in in front and the rest of us were squashed at the back. so much for having a cute car =/

talked about, rather orbit stuff.
the guys have alot to joke about. haha..
one of the topics was their horrible cooking.
Smarties as usual la, keep suanning me...
PL isn't Pure L______ okay!
dunno how come he knows about it.
last 2 weeks suan until now still not enough..
all started when Kevin said last time that his friends from PL were mostly ________. walau this doesn't mean all PL girls are like that lor!
Clarissa's DM is a police, isn't that cool? North Vista's..
yeah then Joe and Smarties entertained us with their lame but logical riddles.
haha..

Joshua and Clarissa left us,
Joe drove Daryl, Smarts and i back to Kovan.
(i hope he doesn't see this, but Smarties' map reading skills suck =\ lol! ask him to read the street directory and and he was struggling with it.. topographic maps are much worse lor, haha)
i walked home and was locked out.
how unfortunate.

returned R's bass...
gonna miss it alot. lol.

tis' the season to be...?

it's the monsoon season.
why? cause a lot of girls are having it at this time.
HAHAHA...
today that dumb machine ate up my 40 cents..
i didn't have enough so i just went there hoping to get one.
yuhui even helped me bang it.
but the thing just wouldn't come out. !@#$%(=(*U$6
why put it in the toilet when it's not even working... lol.

my eye was like, super pain this morning...
wanted to rinse the lens with the solution.
but then, i got quite a shock
a small hole in the lens.
i stupidly put it back into my eye cos' i thought it'd be hard to see without one side.
so the lens gave more problems...
until bio lesson...
it dropped out.
so i had half-vision for the rest of the morning, afternoon and early evening.
it's weird, one eye's blurry and the other's clear.
haha.. but suprisingly i had no problem reading the scores during cca.
literally closed one eye about the 'no eating outside the canteen' rule.
sshhhhhhh... skittles are simply addictive!

maths quiz...
quit thinking about it, just wait for results.
poa rocks stones and pebbles ;)

i do miss Ms Ang..
SS lessons now are like so,... no comments.
don't really understand alot of stuff.
Ms Ang!!!!!!!! ...

missed SI!! argh.
haha i think i'd need someone to update me on that..
cause, i'm not allowed to watch tv, jam, plug the cable into the amp, be out of the house, have meals outside with my friends.
don't you just love my life.
/i think Paul Threemountains Twohill will go far.
though his hair is a little irritating.. like some pirate? haha.

oh yarrrrr
you know the music group people are supposed to sell at least two tickets...
or buy for someone...
all the other sec 2 and 3 handbellers paid up.
i was the ONLY ONE who didn't manage to do it!
parents not sure if they can make it..
friends,
cannot confirm, "see first", "see whether i have money or not", "it will be boring la", "the tickets very expensive".
later Mrs Wong or Ms Goh come after me then die already la.
but nobody wants to buy lor!!!!
what can i do right...
unless YOU tell me you want. haha.
go to Wanyi's blog for details of the concert.

aack, long post.

oh gawd i feel like some spammer.
apparently there was this bulletin on friendster, with a url.
i clicked on it, and then blah blah blah...
and BOOM
i 'spammed' the boards!
didn't intend to ok! don't get tricked like me hor...
this will be a warning too.

you know what? obviously you don't.
but prata blingers know cos' i told them.
i realised Smarties and Raphael have some things in common...
they're in sec 3, they're Christians, they look alike from far (damn alike ok), they play instruments, they both use "ha" in their smses!!!!
kinda freaky, i only realised that while clearing my inbox.
BUT,
Raphael's "ha" is always followed by ".."
whereas Smarties' "ha" is just one "."
(looks like a face. lol!)
the ha-s are driving me nuts!
HAHAHAHAHA
omg omg. joyce, stop ha-ing.

monday's workshop on managing teams...
i stoned in the canteen with Sheila for more than an hour.
before that, i wanted to eat ice-cream.
went out to check. the uncle left already.
ok, nvm...
checked out the computer lab.
not open!!!!! RAHRRR.
and the library was out of bounds to students.
sec 4s and some sec 3s were having o'levels in Jireh block.
which meant we were left with, the bird shit-infested canteen.
wonderful. how very pleasant.

and then it was 3.20, the trainers from the other workshop told us ours was cancelled.
we were lost la, cos' there wasn't any notice. the announcement had been made before that the workshop was going on after school.
to cut the long story short...
trainer was sick and nobody replaced him.
Ms Kok got kinda mad.
(i pity her... have to email everyone to send reminders here and there, reschedule dates and deal with sick trainers.)
(oh yeah, beach cleaning reflection, due at the start of the term, I STILL OWE MISS LIANG MINE! lols... i bet nobody remembered anyway)
yar so it was like, i stoned for so long, waiting for time to pass...
bearing with the birds...
and then they say the trainer sick cannot come!!!
what else could we do, go home lor.
but i didn't la. met the 3 Lings and took 136 with them,
then delivered drinks to Priscilla and Joey at the DPS playground.
see, i'm so nice. haha..
so that's monday.

you know what? obviously you don't.
if you do everything without complaining or arguing,
and work at whatever you're doing with all your heart,
(that's somewhere in the bible, i can't rmb)
things are actually alot easier and better.
your life becomes more, for lack of a better word, happy.
i know of people who basically complain about EVERYTHING.
as long as there's something to complain about.
and, well this kinda irritates people.
you cant expect everything to be perfect right?
you can't expect everything to be done your way.
make the most out of difficult situations instead of grumbling and wasting your breath.
if you'd grumble less about the hot weather and stuff,
trust me... you will enjoy life.

new handbell exco to be announced 12 hours later.
ha ha, how exciting.
i'm feeling neutral. like totally no feeling about it.
i don't even know whether i want to be in.
i guess the answer is no?
so stressful leh. lols..
i hope i'm not in can... then can continue to be late for CCA!
joking la wanyi, relax =P

don't you just love lit lessons?
they can be fun if you respond or at least act enthu.
i pity miss Dong leh... can see that she's trying her best to make lessons as enjoyable as possible. sadly, our classmates do not seem to have the slightest interest.
gosh why am i pitying the teachers...
oh yeah pity Mrs Chong too..
we keep missing 4/5 of Monday's chemistry lessons.
because they always drag Monday assemblies...
so by the time everyone settles down, there's only a few minutes left.
"er, mrs chong, it's five minutes to recess."
hahahahahaha!

Sunday, July 16, 2006

Hui Ling, Man Ling, Ling Ying, Preethi, me, Ethel
sec 3s after the 37th International Physics Olympiad performance at NTU, back in the handbell room where you can see the old and new cusions in the background.
there were so many people!!!! kinda freaky but it was just another handbell performance for me. i mean, performing for the 3rd year leh. wahahah..
the press was there! but they didn't film us. lol.

captain jack went to singapore

supposed to wake up at 2.30am. in the end.. overslept and woke up at 7.45! so cabbed down to pathlight school for autistic kids. ran a carnival there for them.

actually these kids are just normal kids. just that some of them are really scary. haha you can't expect much from a child with autism right..
Clare said their 'pathlight song' sounds better than our school song.
luckily Ms Yoong didn't hear it. she was damn near .
yup so for our station, the kids had to put their hand into the pail of flour and fish out as many marbles as they could.
unfortunately many can't understand "feel for the marbles and put it on the plate"
some just grabbed a whole handful of flour and threw it on the plate.
you know the result.
mess.
the queue was so long la... cos those playing were taking a long time.
i was giving instructions to them, helping them cheat, encouraging them...
not easy leh! hahaha but mission accomplished =)

lunch was at serangoon gardens for my band.
haha spent a lot of time at the bus stop.

and then my tuition teacher called to say she couldn't come!
busy with her school stuf! hahahahaha
can you imagine how glad i was
plus my whole family wasn't at home.
so nice sia!
yup we did some stuff... which, again, i cannot go into detail though i'd very much like to.
the singing was very nice la, felt as if we were some angels singing for God.

starting to like Came To The Rescue all over again =)
nice to sing, nice to play.
Lord all I am is Yours
...
I called, You answered. You came to my rescue
And I wanna be where You are

ahhhh Sarah the cake was damn nice! banana and chocolate. Mmmm i'm craving for more! how come suddenly have cake arh.

band played blind mice.
the kids took a long time to shoo off the playground.
they were so vulgar and rough!
push here punch there...

they were funny though.
"how old are you?"
"9 years old"
"you 9 yrs old he 8 yrs old then why you don't dare to punch him?"
"he fatter mah"

lol that was cute... but overall, ANNOYING!
they just ran around chasing each other and 'wrestling'...
so that cut down our time and only had a few minutes to play...

rushed off to the mrt station, missed a train -.-
we arrived at bedok quite late. should have just took 25 or 854 there la!
so much faster! haha
met up with Michelle and Christabel's cell and watched Pirates of the Carribbean!
they paid for everything so i don't feel very good about it.
and then reached home late.

that movie...
is freaking funny!
HAHAHAHAHA.

costume
choker
makeup
gloves
heels
one performance alone have to have so many things.
i dunno where my makeup is. must wake up early to find!
this is some International Physics Olympiad at NTU
formal event and we're only playing for them while they enjoy their food.
rahrr rahrr
if i don't sleep now i'm going to sub alone though i have no idea how

packed like sardines?

I Write The Songs - Barry Manilow
I've been alive forever,
and I wrote the very first song.
I put the words and the melodies together,
I am music,
and I write the songs.

I write the songs that make the whole world sing.
I write the songs of love and special things.
I write the songs that make the young girls cry.
I write the songs, I write the songs.

My home lies deep within you,
and I've got my own place in your sole.
Now, when I look out through your eyes,
I'm young again, even though I'm very old.

I
write the songs that make the whole world sing.
I write the songs of love and special things.
I write the songs that make the young girls cry.
I write the songs, I write the songs.

Oh my music makes you dance
and gives your spirit to take a chance,
and I wrote some rock 'n' roll so you can move.
Music fills your heart, well, that's a real fine place to start.
It's from me it's for you, it's from you, it's from me,
it's a world wide symphony.

this song... excellent music, freaky lyrics.
if you look from another point of view, from the evil one...
better not go on. later kena sued.

chapel really jabbed me today.
we are living in a world where music is playing a big role in most of our lives...
somwtimes we are not aware, but many songs are about
drugs, sex, adultery, satanism, evil, rebellion, etc.
and that Satan is trying to use this kind of music to influence and destroy us.
i will never ever allow that to happen, at least to people i know.

totally freaked me out, those lyrics the pastor showed us..
like so omg.
alot of things he mentioned, even those about the bands...
i'm going to be extra careful about what kind of songs we listen to, sing and play.
the lyrics. (need to analyse also lor)
have to be ultra sensitive to lyrics now.

IF ever, prata blingers want to jam those kind of songs
i will just go away until they're done with it.
although i'd very much like to turn off all the mics and amps instead.
now i know why the school was so particular about the songs for the music marathon.

God should still be our main focus.
at least that's that for me,
in the midst of all these, jamming and minor conflicts among our level.
all my praise goes out to Him,
i'm coming back to the heart of worship cause it's all about Him.
it's all about Jesus and nothing else.

all the stars have disappeared

for some things...
i simply canNOT continue to pretend.
we know ok.
how many times must we say,
keep quiet and move on?
why must you keep pursuing the matter?
as if our blogs aren't enough,
why make this bigger by publicising elsewhere?
i thought you wanted to move on too?
what else do you want la... an apology on all our blogs?
can you relax? please give us a break ok.

our 'reputation' is going to be ruined la.
thanks ALOT sia.
like we're so GRATEFUL.

today... my living room was converted into a cheapo jamming studio.
bass, normal guitar, piano, yellow pages (if you get what i mean)
hahaha.. my house is indeed the noisiest unit in the block
one day you'll see police at my door.

taught/showed Stacey The Time Has Come bass,
and Pris, the electric guitar solo on the piano.
we're making some progress
Joey and I are stuck at the bridge. haha.
by the time Sarah came, which was late,
i was already getting ready to chiong for piano lesson.
she missed all the earlier 'jamming', lols.

i joined the rest of them at the playground after lesson
to play blind mice.
straightaway pasang lor! you all damn nice la...
walk all the way there only to end up as your bling mouse!
haha but we had fun =) put away all the disturbing stuff for awhile.

and then i did the graph with Joey.
and we discussed and talked about quite a number of things,
which i will obviously not go into detail, cause
this is the internet man, you'll never know who's reading your blog.
and we have the most unexpected visitors.
anyway, there's something new to look forward to now.
which requires tremendous effort from all of us.
time to search for chords and tabs again.

i still love 3c2 =)
as always.

Sunday, July 09, 2006

gosh filch i love you

Smarties and his stupid cheeky look.
stop distracting me during cell ok!
your drumsticks will come soon la but if you continue to suan me,
then say bye to them! lol..

i've been bassing a LOT recently..
so much so that i forget my fingers also work well on the piano.
i can do a 2-hr piano marathon alone man :D
keyboarding is fun, just not as fun as bassing. haha!
my chords can go from thick and complicated to thin and simple.
that day we had practical test for music
i screwed alot la! wth. got a B. 1st time got sth lower than A.

thank you Sarah for the seaweed!
hahaha you won't use your phone for TEN years la please :D

gotta rush through chinese homework. some music marathon reflection... i'm so hating it.
oh by the way,
remember, we were praying as a band before we went on stage?
i told God that whatever we played that day was going to be for God and Him alone.
so if He isn't unhappy with our performance, we shouldn't too. =)

looking back at the worship rosters
i realised that i've been stuck in Team 1 since they started grouping the vocalists.
all the past Team oners have since been regrouped. some in Team 2, 3.
fyi, they always regroup the vocalists.

instead of getting all emo-fied/emotional and stuff
i'll just pretend i didn't see anything.
sometimes this works
and after writing out 8 pages in my diary
this better work.

wah i can finally come online after so long

basically there is just too much to say la
i'm trying to cut down as much as possible.

worship team vocalists...
regrouped again!! sighs. i've been in the same team as Grace (Quek)
for like more than a year?!
and now we're separated. =(
so i'm grouped with Joel and Jia Yan.
yeah all Js, how cool... not.
Grace!!!!! .

there's alot going through my mind..
i'm like, conflicted.
alright.

firstly, i'm being held back by alot of things la.
commitments, conscience, studies, class, parents...
sometimes i get tired just thinking of it.
i dunno la...
and this can't affect me too much
she doesn't look like that kind to me
and neither do i think she's totally innocent.
just this should be ok la..
what excatly i'm talking about,
i can't go into detail.
this is the internet man. it's public.
you'll never know who's reading your blog.
so it's back to the original,
let go and let God.

secondly, i think i'm like, alot further from God now.
i'm not reading the bible and praying as often as before.
discipline and commitment
c'mon joyce, He's waiting for you.

thirdly, well...
R's bass has lots of scratches!!
not one, but quite a few...
HOW am i going to answer to him la..?
he trusted me with his antique bass and now i'm returning it
with marks and scratches??
i feel like shit pls..

and fourth..
it's written all over priscilla and joey's blogs.
i don't have to repeat them. same thoughts.
they hit the nail.
but after thinking a bit,
i've come to this conclusion...
who are we to stop you.
go ahead and do what you want la.
everyone's busy, yeah.
but only the jam, that's all we're asking.
i know you feel odd.
but who's stopping you from banging on the instruments?
it's hard to let go you know.
everything from the first jam to last month,
they've left a deep mark in us.
if it's gonna be a goodbye...
if it's gonna be a huge gap between us...
i guess we'll just have to make do with it.
it's not the end of the world yet.

203rd post

to you...
get for her also no use la. waste your money only. she doesn't appreciate it. you shouldn't have done it.

here's a couple of people i want to thank:
all who came to support us today
really want to thank you for coming down..
Timothy and Terence
for being such a great help.. drums, bass and electric guitar teachers. we would never have done it without you guys, really...
Michelle and her band
for giving us such great support and making us feel good abt ourselves... and all the good advice..
Raphael?
erm.. for lending me the strap for the bass though it was an eguit strap. and for all the money spent to help us pay for jamming. (sometimes only lor)
Mrs Tng
for entertaining all our requests
Ms Ang
for her strong support for us... even though everyone knew the performance sucked to the core.. she was there to encourage and cheer for us.
group members
it was great working with you. you all sang well.. just not loud enough.

this teacher just spoilt the whole thing la... if not for the sound system, we could have performed well.
ya i know the vocalists were all off-key.
that's cos they couldn't hear properly.
cos the sound sucks.
cos they didn't provide amps and we had to use a pathetic practice amp which was so not performance standard but what choice did we have right...
so this teacher said it was noise and wasn't even music and some crap, and she just LAUGHED at us. like walau, you cannot find a meaner teacher anywhere lor. i mean, hey you want us to do well at least let us do the BASIC thing, sound check. cannot check just play like that of course CMI la. what else you want? and we spent altogether dunno how much money on jamming for over a month for this music marathon shit and they told us they took away our other half-hour slot. you tell me how not to cry... we spent SO much time and effort for this, and we get mocked by this teacher. you so smart go play for 90 hours yourself la. couldn't be bothered to go back for the closing ceremony.

walked alot...
forgot walk to excatly where after lunch. Sarah's dad brought back her stuff so she had nothing to carry la..
walau i had to carry a bass amp and bass around, somemore walked for so darn long.
if not for Tim who carried the amp around, i could have died halfway.
cos when he went off i had to carry both the amp and the bass myself which totally killed me la..

Terence can really SHOOT and shoot.
"shut up la"
"shut up? why cannot shut down? i like middle"
alot of crap lor he can just own you with his crappiness.
too much to type.

today's night jamming was one of the best.
we just played and sang our hearts out.
even attempted to play new songs, which still can pass la
haha.
Wee Lee is a good place to show off.

there was this guy who sat outside the studio observing us for quite awhile.
when we got out of Wee Lee, he was sitting at the table.
then he asked us where we a going and he wanted to chat.
so ok lor went for milo bling.
wah this guy is like friendless.. his life quite miserable lor.
dunno what first time approaching a group of girls.
.........
and he praised our band for our attitude.
(he's not the first one to praise us in that area.)
he kinda gave us advice on bands and stuff...
yeah. and he said don't quit school cos it's not worth it.
see, i'm not the only one who says that so don't even think about dropping out of school.

wasted one satay

new discovery:
we have very unexpected visitors... dory, whoever you are, i know you're reading this... he/she's just one of them. i know there are others. haha. so i guess we just have to watch what we type?

yesterday's/saturday's performance...
for me, everything was just, impromptu. bassed according to the chords. think it just sucks la... the sound quality was like crap can.. i'm sure it'll be better later (or, tomorrow).

today's a happy day la haha.
our last and final practice for the big thing...
Raphael didn't turn up -.-
say want to come then never come! hurrrr.
and Priscilla wasn't with us too. =(

so, Joey, Stacey, Sarah and i went to Fourtones damn early.
and slept there for 1.5hrs. yeah lesson learnt... don't come too early cos Fourtones isn't a good place to sleep at. how to sleep when the whole place is vibrating all the time la you tell me.
jam was good...
"y'all are ready for your performance"
as quoted by Timothy.
we will rock the place... if our group members get high with us.
which is most unlikely.
but who cares right? the stage people get high good enough la!
LOLS.
then Sarah got her distortion pedal.
(just now, on the train, she was like examining it
touching it here and there.
until she remembered Terence stepped on it before. lol!)

ended the jam at nine plus...
went to lau pa sat to eat and crap :D
Terence was ya-ing to everything.
*someone says something*
"ya ya ya ya ya!"
oh whatever! haha.
interesting topic: pairing up desperate people
this couple was incredibly pei4.
hahaha.. and some people can spell really well
(note sarcasm)
i can show you.. it's hilarious.
gosh i sound mean...

ok there's only one thing left.
Raphael better wake up early tmr.
STACEY AND I NEED THE STRAP FOR THE BASS
we are so NOT going to be bassing on a chair, for goodness' sake.
have a great morning :)
