worship Him!

Today's Youth Ablaze service was a rather musical one. It marks the end of April, worship month.

I arrived at 12pm in church for worship practice/jamming. No electric guitarist, no 2nd keyboardist. -.- we did it anyway. Charmaine was reallyyyy late. Andy changed some of the songs, end up we didn't have a lot of them. (just realised he's always suanning me) Jon photocopied them for us, and they're pink! What's with the pink paper in the copier.... haha..

Backups Grace (Quek), Stef and I went to warm up our voices. But we couldn't sing in the original key, no guitar or keyboard in that little room. You know whenever a guy leads worship, the girls suffer, all the songs are sung in a high key. Today... the praise songs were all in G! Usually when girls lead they sing in E. We did it anyway. Just that I zhao xia-ed into the mic. But no one will know because of facial expressions. They're important, they show when a person is having difficulty with a song or had zhao xia-ed or uncomfortable with anything. Haha I pretended nothing happened. So there. Nobody brought that up during debrief.

Today's service was very different from the usual. Sang two praise songs first, followed by the sermon/message, then praise and worship again. It was awesome. Though there were some obvious technical errors and faults. Keyboard went off by itself. Everything else was just... great. I could feel the presence of God so strong in that auditorium, it was so overwhelming... Especially when we sang Shout To The Lord. If all the earth would really shout to the Lord, sing of His power and majesty, give praise to the King... That's just... wonderful. Teared on stage, I couldn't help it. I could see that everyone, including the younger P6 and sec 1 kids were worshipping God, every self-conciousness taken away. It was so nice to see that everyone of them were engrossed in worship.. & nobody was looking around or simply staring at the stage...

This month, more than 100 people gave their lives to Jesus. That is a BIG number, for my church, which is neither big nor small. That's something to rejoice about. The angels above are celebrating.

Oh yea.. Andy wanted to sing the song Everyday, was damn impromptu... Charmaine the keyboardist didn't know the chords. haha... Halfway through the song, his hand cramped, and stopped the guitar. I thought Jon and Eugene would continue with the drums and bass. Haha they were confused and didn't know whether to play or just silence, voices alone. Backups didn't sing into the mic. So that last song was screwed up and awkward. Who cares, at least God appreciates it.

If this kind of spirit, hungry for more of Him, were to continue throughout the different generations of Christians... that would be amazing. Totally. The devil is so not welcome into Daddy's house! (learning to address our Father as Daddy, haha thanks to 2 ppl) I'd love to see the youths in church keeping up this enthusiasm for God and pass it down to the new youths who join us every year.

All who love Him, say 'amen'!

To T:
It's really time to get new specs, lol... 2 advantages. Look better and see clearer! Then you won't be able to say, 'I didn't see you'. Haha no offence, but they really look very old fasioned!
